When to lodge 820 application?

Hi

Im preparing my 820 temp application.
My current tourist visa expires on the 16th of November.

I have lived with my partner for about 8 months but dont have any real proof of that. After that we moved to an apartment with both our names on the lease.

On the 22. of October we have then lived together in the apartement for 12 months.

Questions:

1. I visited my family for 3 1/2 weeks during that time (my partner and I kept in contact). Will those 3 1/2 weeks count as time apart or part of the 12 months?

2. Should we apply for the 820 visa on the 22nd of October or better to wait a couple of weeks longer? (my visa runs out 16th of November - dont want to risk not making it - or time being to tight)

3. Do I have to apply for the bridging visa or does that happens automatically?

Hope you can help

Thanx :-)

Hi,

1) that time away should count towards the 12 months
2) I'd lodge slightly after to be safe but more important than just the 12 months is the strength of the evidence that you have to prove this
3) making an bridging visa A application is part of your partner visa application, assuming that the partner visa application is valid (i.e. right forms, fee included)
