Subclass 189, ICT occupation question

I am working as Business Analyst (BA) in my current role. However, in my organization there is no designation as Business Analyst. My current designation is Project Manager (PM). I have got a job reference letter from my employer and it states my official designation - Project Manager.

I am applying to ACS for skill assessment as BA. Is there any way that I can submit an application letting them know that my designation PM because my organization does not have a BA designation? I could not find any option in ACS application.

My responsibilities are also listed in the job reference letter which match BA role, but I just want to make sure that I don't get rejected because my designation is stated as PM.

Yes you can do that. Clearly set out in your work reference letter what your work activities are. You can get the normal activities of a business analyst from the ANZSCO (which you can find using Google). You can also write a submission pointing out that your occupation is business analyst but you job title is Project Manager.

Hi Sam, the ACS and the Department of Immigration often look at the tasks and duties based on the employment references, position description, etc. They are not lead by the position title. I have assisted applicants from the IT support in the banking industry who all had the title of an IT Associate and they had different designated roles. So by all means elaborate and focus as much as possible on the tasks and duties of the designated ANZSO you have chosen to apply under.
