If you have an android phone there is an application that uses the phones camera to scan a document as a pdf.

As long as the scan is of good quality, it doesn't matter how it was made.

Personally I hate scans done on smart phones and saved in jpg. format ( usually upside down), but I have learned to live with it.

But I do save them in ( reduced) pdf. format and in the correct position first before submitting them.

That's what I did, then edited them so they look right, and crop down to just the document required.

If you have a lot to scan - I'd invest in the scanner. It might save you a lot of time and be easier for editing.

I bought a printer with built-in scanner for our application. It was about $46. It's not much compared to what we paid for the PMV. We wanted the documents to be really clear plus it's useful for grouping related documents in one PDF.

Does anyone know how to do a multiple page scan on the free scanning program on a Mac? I've only managed to do one page at a time and I'm not sure how easy/difficult it will be to combine files.
