Hi Whitney and jmcd16,

Thanks for your messages! As Whitney noticed, some time has passed since we first posted our thread. In the end, despite realising that we could safely hit the 12 month requirement because 2012 was a leap year and therefore we would completely have the 365 days together, we went down the 2nd WHV route for our own peace of mind, and to give us a chance to save for the visa and compile 2 years worth of evidence. Laura did 3 months farm work which was hard on both of us, but I went to visit her on weekends since I couldn't leave my job to go and work with her during the week. Since Laura has no real options for sponsorship for her next visa, we will be going down the de-facto route in February 2014 when her 2nd WHV expires. We have been amassing evidence of our relationship literally from day 1, so hopefully everything will go smoothly. I'm sure though that we will have plenty of questions for the forums once we get into the thick of it!
Have either of you applied for (or your partner) a de-facto visa?

Application is in... Just a waiting game now....

I am not a migration agent, just a fellow victim of the system.
