Hi all, we hope to lodge our 820 defacto app in september by post, and ive been put off doing this in person now as ive heard that perth office will not discuss it with you or accept it over the counter anyway. However, 1 month later my partner will start bridging and we want to apply for work rights. Do you think we should send the 1005 with the app? Or wait till his current visa expires and send it through? Im concerned that it might get most or that we still wont have a CO etc to link it to our app.
Thanks
You should wait with form 1005 till you receive the acknowlegment letter for the 820 application. Together with this letter you will get a clientID and RID number (whatever that is...)...when you apply for 1005 put this numbers in the box on the first page and send it off...IMMI will then be able to link the form to your application...
Keep this letter and especially the numbers in a good place every time you want to enquire about the process they ask for this numbers...
Can you tell me what is or where I can find the Substantive visa application receipt number and TRN that they are asking for on the top of the first page next to the File number is?
I received an Acknowledgement of Partner Visa Application letter and have just submitted my medical exam to Perth. I was planning on submitting my 1005 next week when my tourist visa expires and starts to bridge. Do I have to wait for anything else before I can submit the 1005. That is all the response I've received so far from Immigration.

when you paid the visa fee you got an invoice/receipt for that and on that there is a number on the top left...
I didn't quote my TRN number as I didn't know it back then and it was ok...but if you want you can request your TRN by sending an email to the processing department or call them
All the best for you!!!
