Spouse Visa (Temp/Permanent)

Hey guys just checking in again.
So now it's hit 15 months since application of my husbands spouse visa to move to Australia. Still waiting to be requested to submit police clearance & medical ....
I've had to return to Australia due to my pregnancy & my husband is still in Dubai because of the visa status 😩
At least in Australia you have the option of undertaking a bridging visa until the decision is made, but since we applied in Dubai I have no idea what my options are & no one replies to my emails.
Any advice???? We don't want to be apart once bubs comes in early May.

No patience left & can't understand why it's taking so long when it says on the website 12 months ......

Unfortunately this is quite normal for Dubai applications as they deal with alot of people from very high risk countries that need security checks done.

What country is your husband originally from?

Unfortunately nothing can be done if security checks are involved. Many have complained and got nowhere. We had one applicant from Syria that took almost 21 months for the visa to be approved (over 12 months for the security checks which were commenced at around 6 months after application). Another from Yemen took 18 months for the visa to be approved.

Hmnnn I was thinking this much.
My husband is from Lebanon so yeh also considered high risk 😩
So what do you recommend?
Is it worth sending him to the consulate again to nag them or just sit & wait & hope by some miracle it won't take an awful lot longer ?

Lebanon is a known one for taking ages usually 12 to 18 months (sometimes more). When security checks are involved the embassy is in the dark about the security checks just as you are and they don't know when they will come back.

However it is odd that he hasn't been asked for police or medicals usually they wait until at least 12 months for these to be done. I would at least ask if he can get police and medicals done so then when the security checks are back there are no delays.

So now it's hit just over 18 months & still no contact.
I'm due to have my baby in just under 3 weeks & even the visit visa seems to be taking too long. It's been 1 month since applying for the visit visa & Im beginning to worry that I'm not going to have my husband with me for the birth of our first baby.
Really starting to wonder what's going on with the processing of visas in Dubai?????
