understand the frustration, as you are outside standard processing times can call them and ask, not ask some people demand and wonder why they aren't treated politely.
if you lodge a new application then the timeline resets. so you could be waiting another 5 weeks and they will wonder why you withdrew and re applied

visitor visa

XOXO

have you been granted the visitor visa yet?

we applied online last week for a visitor visa, my partner is Samoan, and we still haven't heard. we applied online.. the last 3 times we applied online it has been granted in 3-5 days.

we've already booked his flights to Australia because I didn't think it would take longer than a week.. his flight is booked for 2 weeks time.

should I be worried?

So they didn't respond to you at all? That's shocking. And you'll be having to pay the fees again. Did you speak to anyone in the Fiji office?

I've been quite sick, I got dengue fever in Samoa and since returning I've been in and out of hospital. I wanted my partner here for some of my medical test.. Do you think it's worth contacting them directly?

Awwww poor you...hope you get off of that dengue fever soon....you should have used mosquito cream thinging for your body when you go to Sa.I call Immigration office here and big mistake Im not authorise to get information about visa only my husband.so They told me if my husband wants to ring embassy about his visa outcome he should call australian embassy in New Zealand. Then he called them and they said they will contact Fiji about his request...a lot of work and they declined it.he doesn't have enough asset for his proof to return home....Im not sure because Im new to visa application but its worth contacting them.

I spoke with them today because I'm authorised to act on my partners behalf.. They said I can email [email protected] with details about my condition and it will be up to them if they fast track the application.

Does your partner have a job in Sa? My partner's visitor visas got rejected the first few times we did them in 2013/14.

Things that can help are:
  • a state dec from your husband, done by a lawyer stating this is only a holiday and he will be returning to Samoa
  • a letter from his employer
  • Form 54 with details of any other family he still has in Samoa
  • a stat dec from you saying the trip is only a holiday

I hope maybe some of that helps you
