another tourist visa??

hey guys how long do you think is acceptable for your partner to spend out of the country before applying for another tourist visa? my partner was here from may- 20th of aug im hoping he could come back for my birthday around the 24th of oct and be here for christmas.... my partner is from bali and there not handing visas like they use to but im hoping we would get this....any thoughts or anyone wanna share there tourist visa expereinces??? he only spent 12 days here in feb and then the 3 months from may to aug!!!!
