Really confused

Hey Guys,

So I just got the greenlight for my Bridging Visa A wich is a blessing. However I am currently on a Student Visa that will not run out until april of 2017. I literally can not afford school anymore since I payed for the visa application and my hands are tied legally becauuse of my work restrictions. Now I know that I need tovolountary cancel my student visa and it's a risky. But I'd rather do that than get reported because I failed to pay for school. My question is now where do I write my cancelation to and How long does that process take? I live in Sydney if that helps.

hello,
which visa you applied? If it is visa 820, and if you get a CO quickly and if your CO would grant your visa, then, your student visa will drop off and get your TR!

I will apply for visa 820 and I am on student visa as well. it will expire in March 2017, and I am hoping I would get a CO and grand my visa before it expires. Fingers are crossed!

Hope this is help.
Good luck.

I would check with a migration agent before doing this, as you said it's very risky! Worth a fee hundred bucks to have a consultation and get the best advice.

There are several threads that deal with cancelling a student visa after applying for another visa (usually partner visa). You can refer to this one: http://www.australiaforum.com/visas-...ging-visa.html

Basically it's something you should only do if you are desperate, and I'd suggest you first speak with a migration agent to make sure you understand the process as well as the consequences that come with a Bridging Visa E.
