pmv whats happens next

hey guys just curious as to what happens our pmv gets approved whats the next steps I know its to a partner visa but can we apply for this onshore or do we have to be out of the country.... how long do we have to apply for this after we get married??? im not sure of the steps my visa is far from being approved im just trying to get a heads up on details
