Exclamation 574 - PhD Research (Same Sex)

Hello everyone!

I've been reading a lot, I know about work times and so on for dependants of PhD students... But I can't quite seem to figure out how to apply for a Visa myself as a dependent of an 574...

I'm guessing he gets his paperwork done indicating that we are married and what do I do?

Can anyone help me out here? What do I actually need to do?

Thanks in advance!

Does the PhD student have a 574 visa. If so, you apply for the same visa as a dependent. You will need to show evidence of your dependency. That will depend on what your relationship is.

You have to give evidence that you are in a relationship. Evidence to show that you are or have been living together, that you share you finances, and that are considered a couple by others etc.

Ok, I'm guessing people know we are a couple, about evidence that we live together: The contract is in just his name. Is that an issue?

We do have share our bank account.

We are currently living abroad (from our native country) you think that might make it more difficult for whatever is "proof of relationship"? We don't know that many people and don't actually have "close" friends here.

Thanks in advance!
