6 Month Visa Expiry Date?

I am on a 6 month visa I arrived on 5 March 2016, my vevo states that expiry date is 5 September 2016. It also states that I cannot enter after 7 December 2016. The only conditions I have are no work and 3 month maximum study.
Being that my expiry date is 5 September does that mean I have to apply for extension or bridging visa before my 6 month visa expires if I wanted to stay after the 6 months.
Any help would be great
Thanks
Lisa

If you wanted to stay continuously till 7th Decempber you would have to apply for a new visa before the September date. However, if you depart Australia before that date you can come back to Australia after that any time up to 7 December 2016 as long as you depart again before that date.

You current visa gives you a 6 months stay in Australia.
