Thank you that's what I thought as well, but if I leave Australia and come back say a week later will I then have another 6 months on that visa? the current visa I am on ( sub class 600) has an expiry date of 5 September with no entry after 7 December 2016. Does my visa expiry date change upon my second entry?
I guess I am worried because if I leave Australia before 5 September and try to come back after 5 September that I wont be able to come back due to that expiration date. Would you please clarify?
Thanks
Again
Lisa

That is what some people have said does happen.
You enter the country again and the new visa entry gets a revised expiry date based on your visa length. 6 months after entry in your case.
