Am I doing the Form 888/Stat Decs wrong?

Hi everyone, fairly new to this forum and so thankful for the available resources..

Before we started on my onshore Partner Visa application, we were aware of the Stat Dec requirements and so we downloaded the Commonwealth Statutory Declaration forms and asked my parents-in-law and an auntie (long-time family friend) to fill them out for us, thinking we were so diligent and taking initiative. This was before I discovered this forum, so we weren't aware of the Form 888... As a result, we now have 3 Commonwealth Stat Decs, that have been signed and certified but which are not accompanied by certified copies of identification...

So now, I have come up with two options:

1) Ask my parents-in-law and our family friend to send us colour scans of their passports/drivers licences; or

2) Send them the Form 888 template for them to fill out (which I really don't want to do because I feel so bad that we gave them the wrong forms to fill out in the first place and I really don't want to waste any more of their time...)

What do you resourceful folks suggest I do?

Thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated. Hope your Sunday's going well!

Hi, this link may be useful to you:

If Form 888s are on your visa checklist, I believe you will have to comply with the minimum requirement, as they are obligatory. You can then choose to include more Commonwealth Stat Decs or their equivalent in another country (i.e., Notarized Affidavit) as you deem necessary.

(This is what we did when we applied for a PMV through to a PR.)

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Are the people who've already filled them out Australian citizens? Because you need two 888 stat dec forms from Australian citizens.

Thanks for your replies Marianina and Arabella!

Yup, so far we've got three Commonwealth Stat Decs and one Form 888 filled out by Australian Citizens. We've decided to comply with the minimum requirement so I'll get a couple of the Commonwealth Stat Decs re-written into the Form 888.
