PMV Granted (from the Philippines); Question re passport

My PMV has been granted! We lodged September 30, 2015 and received the grant today, March 16. We applied online and the visa was processed in the Manila embassy.

I have a question, how long does it take for IMMI to process the form 1022? My passport is expiring in October 2016 and local immigration might not let me leave the country with a passport with less than 6 months validity. I still have to resign from my job and give 1 month notice so I can't leave immediately.

I really planned to renew my passport; I have a schedule on March 29. We didn't expect the visa to arrive this early! But we are very thankful!!!

You do need to get the passport done ASAP.
And then give immigration the new details as the visa is now attached to the old passport.

Regarding the form 1022 - (Notification of changes in circumstances) that may depend on what has changed.

Quote:
If you need to make any changes to your address or passport details you can notify us by one of the following methods:
Online through your ImmiAccount (for some applications only).
Complete and submit Form 929 Change of address and/or passport details
https://www.border.gov.au/Lega/Lega/...ssport-details
To be on the safe side carry your old passport with you too. And a printout of the visa grant.

Have you booked the CFO yet...?

Thanks @J&E! I haven't done CFO yet. Will do when I get new passport. Since I applied online I could just inform them through the link there. I'm thinking about emailing the manila embassy the form 929 too just to be sure. How many days do you think it takes for the new passport to be "activated"? Thanks!

No idea how long it takes. I agree with emailing the form too. We updated the address online, back in November. But the PMV grant still had the old address on it.
