The best way for skilled migration or other alternatives

Hello,

I am very interested in migrating to Australia permanently to live and work there.

Is submitting an EOI the only way for skilled migration?
Would having an Australian degree make all the difference - meaning chance of getting invited to apply for a PR?
Does the EOI honor degrees and work experience from the United States at all?

I'd greatly appreciate your insights.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
cinchan
