Work Visa

I wonder if someone could please answer my query.
My husband passed the skills test, but believes as he is over 45, has no degree and no company to sponsor him that he can not get a work visa as he is in a catch 22 situation:needs work visa to apply for jobs, but needs a job to qualify for a work visa.

So to overcome this hurdle my husband believes I may be able to apply for a work visa due to my age,the fact I have a degree and was a primary teacher until December 2006(taught for 10years) when I left to become a mum. Since 2011 I have worked part time as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant using my SEN teaching skills....however despite being a qualified teacher my occupation is Teaching Assistant and I haven't taught for nearly 10 would I pass the skills test?

Next issue:should I get a visa my husband and we get to Aus the idea would be for my husband to apply for the bread winner job and me do what I do here...20 hours a week as an SEN teaching assistant. My husband thinks once you get your work visa,as long as I work 20 hours a week I could work as anything. My concern would be that should I be able to use my experience as a teacher to get the visa, then I would be only allowed to work as a teacher which would not work! One I am 'out of date' and also I need to work part-time without bringing work home as main child carer.
Any answers would be warmly welcomed, especially as I'm waking up at dawn worrying about a forced return to teaching, then losing my job as not up to it anymore......😢

Thanks in advance
