Renewal of Subclass 461 Visa

Hi everyone,

My husband is a NZ citizen and I'm currently holding the Subclass 461 Visa which is due to expire on 5 Jan 2017.

Does anyone know the following:

(1) Can I apply and collect the Visa in Australia? The last time I submitted the application in NZ and they made me go back to NZ to collect my Visa even though I'm already in Australia.

(2) What are the forms to be submitted?

(3) When do I have to submit the forms for renewal?

(4) Do I have to submit my medical report?

(5) Do I have to submit my Police Certificates again?

(6) Do I have to submit my Marriage Certificate again?

Would appreciate if someone can advise! Thanks!

You can apply for the visa in Australia. You do not have to leave to apply again.

You can submit your new application any time before your current visa runs out. You will be granted a Bridging Visa A when you apply. The BVA will kick in if your new visa has not been granted prior to your current visa expiring.

Yes you have to do another medical.

Yes you have to do a police check.

Probably a good idea to submit your documents again.

Thanks Jeremy! By the way, are the forms the same forms when I first applied for the Visa?
