Skill select query

Hi, I am considering applying for work visa via skill select (independent, state /employer sponsered categories).

my question is: does anyone know what will be the expeted expenses BEFORE i get an invitation to apply?
is it just the cost for assessment of my bachelors degree??

my degree is ACCA (professional degree like CPA australia) and BSc Hons in Applied accounting from oxford brookes university UK. . what is the relevant assessment authority?

thanks

HI
I guess since your qualifications and degree is in accounting, u will be applying for a accounting related job. If so your assesing authorities will be CPA, Chartered Accountants Australia and there is another accounting body, I think public certified accountant. I have also applied for a skill assesment from CPA, so if you go to their website, it will tell u what documents that you need to supply for the migration assesment. You should have IELTS 7 band score, before doing the skill assesment and the costs would only be for IELTS and assesing authority. I paid AUD 475 to CPA for the assesment. There is no cost to lodge an EOI.

hey thanks for that man.
Is that IELTS academic or general? Someone advised me to take academic.

Their reasoning was: educational institutes/academic bodies need ielts academic. IMMI.gov accepts both IELTS academic or general. So take academic

The IELTS is required by CPA. They require a Academic IELTS test with 7 in each band. They will also require your academic transcripts, as well as your qualification.

Do you have any work experience? If not, you will not be able to meet the 60 point requirement unless you are sponsored by a relative in Australia, or request a nomination personally from an Australian state / territory (only possible for the 190 visa)

IELTS 7 = 10 points
Degree = 15 Points
Age = 30 Points (25-33 years old)

If you really ACE the IELTS, and get 8 in each band, then your set.

I am applying to VETASSES as my occupation is industrial pharmacist. I have 5 years of experience. For vetasses, IELTS is required for skill assessment?

VETASSESS has no indication that IELTS is required for the assessment, but, unless your experience, or qualification was obtained in Australia, then you will need IELTS of 7 in each band to be eligible for the Skilled Migrant 190 visa.

If you don't have IELTS of 7, you can apply personally to a state / territory which has listed the occupation of Industrial Pharm. on their skilled occupation list. Also, it is very important you make sure that the occupation ceiling has not been reached for the skilled occupation.
States / territories will stop nominating skilled occupations once a certain number of invitations for the occupation have been made.

Contact me if you need more assistance.

Thanks for the reply. My profession 'Industrial pharmacist' is there in ACT list. So iam eligible for state nominated 190 visa to ACT. But they demand an IELTS score of 7 overall and I have only 6.5..one more thing is i have to show proof of 6 vacancies for industrial pharmacist in ACT which i cannot find out..

Am I right that if you are a fully qualified member of CIMA than you can become a member of CPA by MRA and you don't need skills assessment for any of the visas?
