Anyone out there applied from Kuala Lumpur AVAC?

My husband and I had lodged our offshore Partner Visa in Kuala Lumpur on 6 April 2016. We had received an auto-generated email a day later. The wait began...

Please share your experience and advice.

Hi Island Girl,

Just to share my experience. I did not apply thru the AVAC, I actually did it myself online. I applied for Subclass 309. My wife is Australian, I am Malaysian.

I completed and submitted the application on 5 April 2016. They emailed me on 12 April, asking me to mail them the original copy of the Certificate of Good Conduct, which I did the very next day. I was expecting a few months' waiting time...

On 23 April 2016, I received an email from them stating that my Visa has been granted. It took less than 3 weeks from application to grant. Amazing!

Good luck with you application. I am sure that it will be granted very soon.

Wow! That's awesome! I am indeed delighted for you and your spouse! Thanks so much for the encouragement and kind words! Wishing you and your partner all the best!

My husband and I had also applied for the Partner Visa subclass 309 / 100. We have been married for 2 years and 3 months at the time of our application. Our paper application was lodged at AVAC in Kuala Lumpur on 6 April 2016. Then, we received an auto-generated email with receipt and file numbers from the DIBP on 7 April 2016. Nothing since though.

The officer at AVAC Kuala Lumpur did advise us that we would need to post the original AFP and Malaysian police clearances to either them or the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur in the future. I shall keep you updated with our progress.

Thanks again. Take care. Have a safe flight!
