Question 485 expiring soon, what next???

Hi, I am in 485 right now which expires in 6 months. I worked as medical administrator for a medical centre but when I applied for skill assessment VETASSESS gave me negative outcome in my work experience. Instead asked me to apply as Health Promotion Manager as it closely matches. They also said for Medical Administrator position I need to be wirking in Hospital to qualify. Health Promotion Manager is on ENS LIST. So how do I proceed now. I have only 6 months remaining. Also I am overseas trained doctor. I have completed Australian Medical Council Examination. Just began to look for a job as a doctor but it takes time especially if you have gap in the practice. Can anyone help me regarding ENS ( Employer Nomination Scheme). Can I apply for diploma course after doing masters to buy time in Australia while working on my options?
Thank you

Medical Administrator

Hi prajay,

Sorry to hear your assessment result. I am also planning to apply for medical administrator skill assessment next year since I have been working as medical administrator in a medical clinic.
It is not a hospital but it is full fledged eye medical center. I have done masters in healthcare administration from Australia. Looking at your blog I am concerned regarding my skills assessment results. I am currently on 457 visa. By the time I am going to apply for skill assessment I will have 1 year post qualification experience and will have about 4 years of pre qualification experience as medical administrator. If they suggested you to apply as Health promotion manager it could be since ABS website states that Health promotion manager plans, organizes, directs, controls and coordinates a primary health organisation that provides a broad range of out-of-hospital health services. Services in Clinic and medical offices fall out of hospital services? I think you can try applying as Health promotion manager.I am finding out more on this and will let you know if I come across any more information on this.

I observed that as per ANZSCO a medical administrator plans, organises, directs, controls and coordinates medical programs and clinical services in a hospital or other health service facility, maintains standards of medical care. It states hospital or any health service facility. It is strange that you are been told that medical administrator can only work only in hospital.

Hi,
I also plan to apply for this occupation of medical administrator but I am little confused.
I have done M.B.B.S and then the M.Ph ( master in Public health from Belgium) . I am working for MSF ( Medecine Sans Frontieres) for the last 7-8 years. Hope that I am eligible to apply under this occupation. Please guide me.
