The last time I got one for working with children, it stated "working with children" across the top of the results certificate paper. So it'd be clear it was for another purpose.

I think getting it back in 1 hour is extremely optimistic of the agency lady! Hope you can work something out for the job.
Yeah I know I had to tick a box, but I was being optimistic. Hoping they're gonna reimburse me for this one if I have to get another one for my visa anyway!

I thought she was being optimistic too, but I was still kinda hoping it might happen.

My employer did another one for me and it's come through already apparently! No idea how they did that.

However, I did manage to ring up the AFP and change the purpose of the one I applied for to immigration woohoo!

Ahh, I'm now remembering something I read on the side of a bus a while ago. There are online police checks that employers can do that give instant or near-instant results, but only for job purposes. That must be it. Since everyone on this forum is thinking about police checks for immi, we were all assuming you were needing one done in the same way (ie, apply online but still receive it on paper to then send off to immi). I wonder if in future immi will have the option of letting applicants do an online "instant" check and divert the results to immi? Would be handy.

Nice work getting them to change it - saves you $42!

I know I was amazed! And it was so easy too. When I called up it said "We are experiencing high volumes of calls" but my call was answered in two minutes, I asked, she changed it and done! Not like calling centrelink or something.
