Help Needed

I am current a recent graduate of IT doing Professional Year as well as starting my new job as a software engineer soon.

I feel like quitting Professional Year as it just gonna be a burden on top of my work. I am 23 years old and unsure what to do. Not sure if, I am able to apply for a PR next year if I do so.

Can someone advise?

I currently finished bachelor in IT so I get 20 points and cause of my age I get 25 points, so altogether 45 points. I am hoping I can get good score in IELTS.

Please help.

It is unlikely with your current level of work experience that you can pass a skills assessment

Yeah I am aware of that. However after working 1 year, shouldn't I be able to get a skill assessment with 5 migration points?

You need to check what is required for your particular occupation - most require 2 to 3 years post qualification experience. You will also need to check if your course and university are recognised.

My degree (Double Major in Computer Science and Internetworking and Security) from Murdoch University is definitely recognized. However, I found this confusing document from ACS.

In document of Skills Assessment Guidelines for Applications at Page 5 of Skill Level Requirement Met Date at paragraph 3. It says
"The work experience required to meet the suitability criteria is NOT included as Skilled Employment and is NOT eligible for points under the skilled migration points test."

www[dot]acs[dot]org[dot]au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/7319/Skills-Assessment-Guidelines-for-Applicants.pdf

I don't understand what that even means. So I am not able to get 5 migration points when the DIBP website subclass 189 mentions that you are able to get 5 point for working 1 year of skilled employment. I am getting quite confused regarding this matter.

You can claim points for work experience AFTER you are qualified. If ACS says your 1 year of experience went towards becoming qualified for your occupation, then you can't also claim points for that experience.
