Applying for wife's immigration & hassles of applying from Pakistan >.<

Hi there,

I'm hoping maybe a fellow Pakistani or anyone who has experience on the matter can assist with a query.. I've researched on the forum and wasn't able to find an answer to this so I figure I ask through my thread.

I married in Pakistan recently but am having issues with getting some ID forms sorted out there.

I never made a local ID card in Pakistan, which has lead to a couple of questions in applying for my wife's visa.

Does her ID card NEED to show that she's married to me? and similarly with her current Pakistani passport, does it have to show myself as husband? or is she OK to submit the documents as is?

She has the following:
  1. Current Pakistani passport
  2. ID card
  3. FRC form
  4. Nikahnama

I attempted to get an ID card made while in Pakistan, but ofcourse there was some spelling mistake they put in the actual card and now as I'm back in Australia, so they want me to apply all over again.. similarly passport would take a month atleast to change and show spouse name..

Can any one advise if I would experience any issues if we apply with her ID card and Passport that she made before the marriage?

Thanks in advance..

Which visa type and subclass are you applying for? Documentation in support of your application will vary from one visa type to another.

Ideally her passport with the maiden name is good to go as long as you have a registration certificate of your marriage [I don't know how things work in Pakistan].

Endorsement of spouse's name onto one's passport is not really required as long as the marriage is certified.

Cheers for the quick response - I'll be applying for the 309 visa which I believe is later processed further once 2yrs done.

Yes I have a marriage certificate - english version and attested.
