Is a partner visa best?

My partner is from Thailand and we are going there in January to get married, we were going to apply for a partner visa once we return. She is currently on a student visa but we are now expecting a child. We need to get a visa asap that will cover medicare. Any feedback would very much appreciated.

Unfortunately, there's no quick way to get a partner visa.
Check the partner migration booklet: Partner Migration Booklet

Do you have the proper evidence for all the 12 months of your relationship? If not, than your application will be denied. You can register your relationship in Australia, that waives the 12-month relationship requirement, or you can get married (in Australia).
She'll be covered by Medicare since the date she applied for her partner visa, but I don't know if there are any limits within this Medicare cover (until her visa is granted).
