Question Shift from Darwin to Melbourn

Hi everyone, I need a urgent suggestion!

My brother (along-with his wife and 3 years kid) got the Temporary Residency (Skill migration sub-class 489) visa from Australia (but invitation from NT government).

Is it possible for him to shift Melbourne from Darwin after his arrival in Australia?? as u are aware that living standard and job market in Darwin is not good. So, my brother would face very stress situation with his family members.

Will he face any problem if he shift to Melbourne? Or do u have any suggestion to solve this problem

Thanks in advance for your sincere suggestion.

Why did you accept a NT invitation if you didn't want to work in regional NT?

"In your expression of interest, you can indicate your interest in just one State or Territory, or you can choose to be available to all States and Territories. If you accept a nomination, the States and Territories might require you to:
•live in the nominating State or Territory for at least two years
•tell the State or Territory your address, both before and after you arrive in Australia"

The whole point is to meet a short fall of specific skills for specific areas.

The job market in Darwin is stronger than most other places in Australia at the moment. What type of work does he do?

Thanks for your reply. My concern was that is there any legal issue or restriction to move from Darwin to Sydney, as he got the invitation from NT govt? I know ethically he have to stay at least 2 years there in Darwin. Although, will he face problem such police clearance, or getting driving licence or others?

They are small problems I think?

Is deportation due non-compliance of 2 year requirement (reason visa was granted) a concern? or worth the risk to lower chance of employment in Melbourne?

He has a moral obligation to live/work in NT. He has a legal obligation to live/work in a regional area. So it is a condition of his visa and he cannot live in either Sydney or Melbourne.

*** I know this moral obligation. But do you have any suggestion how this problem can be solved (such as will he apply for another visa category... I have no idea)

You have a condition 8539 on your visa. The means that you can only live, work and study in a "Regional Area" in Australia if you are to become eligible to apply for a subclass 887. You can't move to either Sydney or Melbourne without breaking a condition of your visa. In fact you could become at risk of your visa being cancelled id you moved to these places under S116(1)(b) of the Migration Act 1958 for not complying with a condition of your visa.

If you were not sure that you would like to live in the Northern Territory you should have applied for sponsorship elsewhere. You never know you might like it. For sure it will be very different from your life in Bangla Desh.

** Thank you for your good informative suggestion. More four questions,

1. After arrival in Australia where should a person should report for informing the concern authority (such as- is to DIBP office or others.. I don't know).

2. Can you tell me abut the job market in Darwin (Community Worker)? Should a new migrant person should achieve Australian Degree or short course to get Community Worker job quickly.

3. How I can get a temporary job with in short time?

4. Is his spouse has right to work there (who is coming with him)

Thanks in advance..
