Smile Statutory declaration for Prospective Marriage visa? Help Pleease

Hi guys,

My fiance and I have been together for a year but we currently live in separate countries - he is in Egypt and I am in Australia. We were advised that a PMV was our best bet if he were to come here and marry me and live a happy life .
It's been smooth sailing since then, however, a couple of things we haven't been able to gain clarity on are:
1) the statutory declaration form (form 888 on the immigration website)
2) letter of intended marriage from a marriage celebrant.

It would be really helpful if you guys had any stories to share about the experiences you have had with these two pointers (and of course anything else you would love to share!).

Thank you!

You need 2x 888 statutory declarations from Australian citizens and certified proof of their citizenship from people who know of your relationship. That can be from friends (best) or family (ok). I have read that they can have met him via skype even, but it would be better from people who have met him in person.

In our case I have spent time in Australia and my husbands neighbors provided 4x 888s for us.

You will have to email marriage celebrants to find out about the details in Australia, I have no experience to share in that area.

Excuse me all, once my fiance in Australia has the statutory declarations, does he have to send the actual documents here? Or is it ok to scan and email them to me? Thanks!

Send originals, you do not want your application processing delayed.
