Which bank, credit rating.

Hi, can anyone tell me which bank to use to start building up my credit rating while I am still in the UK. When renting in Australia apparently we will need a credit rating, and we've heard that you can open an Australian bank account while still in the UK so we can start to build up a credit rating so that you will be able to rent a house.

I am not sure what exactly you mean...but I guess you want to open an account here in OZ while still in the UK....in that case try HSBC as they have branches in both countries... or try on of the online banks like ing direct

cheers

I would persannally go with Commbank, they have a branch in London and are the biggest lender with a massive array of products. HSBC is overpriced, has awful customer service, low selection of products and is consistently among the lagging banks on all metrics.
