Exclamation Possible mistake in the "previous relationships" on our partner visa, what to do?

Hi all,

so after submitting 47SP by my partner, I am filling the 40SP as a sponsor. I had a de facto spouse before, back in Europe, and we have no secrets with my current partner, so we put it in the application. But we might have made a mistake.

We have selected: "De facto" as the "Realationship status" with my previous partner, thinking that it was the status of the relationship at the time it was in effect. We also filled in the "Relationship ended" date (which is already far in the past).

But now seeing the statuses on my 40SP, I think the correct thing to do was to selected: "Separated", as in now we are separated.

Could someone tell us what to do? We are panicking a little bit, because our 47SP is already submitted and paid and we don't know whether we are wrong, whether we should contact someone or what else to do. We are now waiting for me to submit the 40SP.

Thanks for any help!

You can use form 1023 to address any mistakes and add the signed form to the application. As the reason you can say " incorrect data entry" or something similar.

Thanks for the quick reply! Could you also tell us whether we really made a mistake? What is the exact meaning of the relationship status in "previous relatioships", is it the status now, or status then? (Sorry, still in panic mode, really appreciated!)

It could be interpreted differently, but I always answer it as the current status of that previous relationship, which usually is separated or divorced.

When I filled in this form I put the status of the previous relationship at the time of that relationship such as De Facto and then put the end date of that relationship. My current partner was recently granted a spouse visa so answering in this way about previous relationships obviously didn't cause us any problems.

Thanks for the reply! Just one more question, if you don't mind, did you answer this way, e.g. defacto + date ended on both forms (40SP&47SP)?
