New update

The more new applications that come in, the more the P5's can be pushed back. So while the number of places is one thing, it's hard to tell how many new applications have (or will) come in that will take those spots ahead of the P5's. The way the DIAC update is worded (above), it appears that the remainder of the P5 spots for this year will be used for 489 and 489 subsequent entries.

Hi Mark,

Today there is an update on DIAC site for subclasses 475, 487, 176 and 886.
I am a bit confused in this. Does this includes processing of 176 (family) in P5 with occupations on CSOL by March 31?

Regards,
Abhay

Hi Abhay -

Thanks. This information does not appear to apply to family or relationship sponsored visas, and is limited only to regional and state sponsored visas. They had to release this because there was a growing problem that had to do with getting approved nomination documents for these sponsorships and the introduction of SkillSelect. I see nothing in this that affects family sponsored P5's one way or another.

Best,

Mark Northam

Hi Mark,

Pls correct me if I'am wrong. Last year DIAC cleared all 176 state sponsored applications by May 31 and same was published in the allocation table on DIAC site. So, now which are these pending in 176?

Regards,
Abhay

Hi Abhay -

Family sponsored 176s and 475s (as opposed to regional/state sponsored versions of these visas).

Best,

Mark Northam

Hi Robin -

Congratulations! And yet another example of how partner visa processing times these days are completely, totally unpredictable.

Best,

Hi Mark,

Any guess, when visa subclass 176 family sponsored processing will start. I had applied in August 2009, but no news yet.

Regards,
Abhay
