Stage 2 - Permanent Partner Visa Assessment (subclass 801)

I have sponsored my wife for a permanent visa and wanted some opinion on your experiences.

It's been about 4 months now since the application of the stage 2 partner visa and I'm wondering how long this typically takes and if there is any additional information they generally ask for that I can prepare.

A brief overview of the background:

Applied for partner visa (subclass 820) in Feb 2014
Applied for permanent partner stage 2 visa (subclass 801) in Feb 2016

There is already a full thread in this

Page 1 has a link to a spreadsheet showing how long people have been waiting

Hope that helps

We have the same timeline only 3 months ahead of you and are still waiting, haven't heard a thing.

Our 820 was approved within a couple of months, we're not going to be so lucky this time around.

Thanks all, I'll have a look at that thread.

What is the standard or typical processing time for the stage 2?

For low risk countries it looks to be around the 10 month mark. Saying that, it seems pretty random on a case by case basis.
I submitted in September 15, so am hoping to hear in the next couple of months.
My friend who applied in August was contacted 2 weeks ago.
