Travelling on Student visa after Partner visa application submitted

Hi all,

just a quick question, because we got two different answers from two agents...

My partner is in Australia on Student Visa (vocational). We applied for Partner visa, and she got Bridging visa A. If she travels outside Australia, does any of those Visas/Applications get cancelled? Does she have to reapply for anything? The student Visa and the school both end well after coming back from abroad and the travel will happen during the school holiday.

Thanks in advance!

Go to VEVO( and check which visa is active at the moment. If the student visa has not expired yet, the bridging visa will only kick in once the student visa expires. SHE CAN NOT TRAVEL ABROAD ON A BRIDGING VISA. If her student visa is still active, she can travel abroad and come back before the student visa expires.

Yes, that's right. However one agent said that the Bridging Visa A is "running in background" and will be cancelled when she travels on Student Visa and then we have to reapply for BVA after she comes back...
