Student visa moving towards partner visa

So me and my partner been living together for nearly 4 years and decided to get married. However I'm still on my student visa (valid till june 2017) while she has her PR. We'd like to see if there are any options for us to get me off student visa prior to the expiry. I know there's a subclass E visa, but not sure if it's a best option for us.

Any help would be appreciated!

There are quite a few lengthy posts on the subject. Getting a student visa cancelled is never a good idea and being on a Bridging Visa E without travel and, possibly, no work rights is no fun. Not being able to travel overseas for a year or more is never a problem, until one day it becomes a problem....
