Indonesian police check

Hi, my wife is Indonesian from Blitar, Surabaya. She made a Surabaya province police check as this is her hown town.
Question is will this police check be accepted for the Partner visa offshore?
I'm now getting told she needs to go to Jakarta which takes about 6 days to visit all offices she needs to complete it.

Any advice? Hotel recommendations if so? She is a village girl and jakarta is a big place for her to go alone

Thanks very much

owen

Hi Owen,

My fiance is Balinese and we had a similar issue. She obtained all the documents from her provincial (village police) to take to police head quarters in Denpasar to obtain the police check. In Denpasar they told her she had to go to Jakarta however I read on another website that the Bali police always throw people this line. As she is balinese I told her to go back on another day and explain that she cannot go to Jakarta, so she went back and luckily saw a nice officer who did the check for her (for a small fee of course).

The best option for you would be to contact the Australian embassy in jakarta either by phone or e-mail and ask them your question. Another option is to try to locate a migration agent in her area that might be able to obtain the police check for her. This was an option we were going to take before my fiance went back to the police for another try.

We lodged out PMV in October so have not been given a CO as yet but we are pretty sure the Police check she obtained is enough as the embassy has advised that all her documents look ok (at this stage)

I hope this info helps you in some way.

Moose
