partner point for 190 visa

Hi All,

One quick question regarding partner point.

I am primary applicant and having positive ACS as software engineer (present in SOL & CSOL) and my wife occupation is ICT Account Manager (Only present in CSOL). She is already having her IELTS score as 6.5 (6 in each section)

Just wanted to be sure before proceeding with her skill assessment and investing AUD $810.

Can I get 5 point for partner if I will go for visa 190 for NSW?

Please suggest. Thanks

I've always read that as long as you're both on the occupation list for the visa you are applying for (i.e. both on SOL for a 189 or both on CSOL for 190) then you can claim partner points. I've never applied for either visa so don't have any direct experience on this though. If you are unsure, it would be worth having a consultation with a registered migration agent. There are several good agents who post regularly on this forum - look for usernames WRussell, Jeremy Hooper, CCMS and Mark Northam.

I've never heard of SOL1 and SOL2. If I had to guess, I'd think that's referring to SOL and CSOL, but people should use the proper names to prevent confusing someone..
