Renewal of Permanent Residency

Hello everyone..

I just got my citizenship queries solved by two very helpful members.

After having the discussion, there were a few more queries that came to my mind.

Firstly, is it enough two have lived in Australia for at least 2 years in 5 years from the date of PR being granted, in order to get it renewed.

Secondly, what is the nature of RRV ?
Is it PR visa for another 5 years with same 2 years of permanent stay condition. Do I get the same benefits as those in Permanent Residence visa.

Lastly, my visa document says : Must not travel after - March 2020 and Travel Document Expiry - August 2022. Can someone please explain me the difference between the two. Does it mean that I can come to Australia any time before March 2020 and live there until August 2022, but not travel after March 2020.

If you live in Australia for 2 out of 5 years you will get an RRV automatically on application.

The RRV extends your travel rights for another 5 years, with the same conditions. If you become an Australian citizen you will not need to have a visa or travel rights.

March 2020 is 5 years from your visa grant date. I looks like August 2022 is your passport expiry. You will need to get a new passport before your old one expires.
