801 after positive AAT decision

Hi All

I would like to share my story and see if anyone have been through same process.

I have applied for 801-820 visa in Jan 2014 I got refused on Feb 2015 for applying on non substantive visa, I took my case to MRT about a year and a half later I attended the MRT and based on my compelling reasons my case was remitted back to DIAC in April 2016, just recently 3 months later DIAC contacted me and asked me to provide NPC,medical check and form 80. I have submitted those documents on time.

Can anyone tell me how long for DIAC to get back to me and grant me my 801 visa because seriously it starting to frustrate me.

Moe I have moved your post to its own thread.

Unfortunately there is no set time for them to provide the decision it is however long it takes. However, if they have only just asked for the form 80 it make take awhile as security checks from Lebanon seem to take ages.

Sorry there is no better news.

Hi Mish

Thank you for your reply.

I am wondering why would they do security check from Lebanon as I have been living in Australia for the last 8years and I have submitted my AFP police check for the last 12 months.

Unfortunately they still do security checks. When security checks are involved there is no way to know if it will be fast or slow. Unfortunately it is just a waiting game.
