If a RMA is consulted, a typical budget is about AUD $6500 plus travel costs, some charge much more.

Sponsors must also invest (or have invested) 1% or 2% (depending on the case particulars) of total payroll in training.

Without knowing the particulars of the case, it is not possible to offer a considered budget estimate.

There are separate costs for employer sponsorship (must be paid by the employer) and the 457 nomination (must be paid by the employer) plus the 457 application. Then there are costs related to any medical or police checks, translation of documents, etc, and for a migration agent if one is used for any or all steps of the process. This is just for the visa itself. As Westly has said, the employer must have also invested in training of Australian citizens/permanent residents in order to be eligible for sponsorship.
