Urgent!! Applying for Student Visa whilst on Tourist Visa 676

I am trying to apply for a student visa to study in Australia.

I am in Australia and I currently hold an extended Tourist Visa, valid until this Monday 21st January 2013.

The online application system states that I do not have a valid prerequisite visa to apply for a Student Visa online - however in the 'Qualifying Visas' list on the immi website, my Tourist Visa (subclass 676) is classed as qualifying...

The only other option I can see is to submit a paper form of the Student Visa application, by hand, to the immigration department on Monday (the day my visa expires), but that will take a long time and is even more very last minute.

Anyone know why I can't apply online/why my visa isn't valid to apply online with?

Thank you!!!!!!
