My partner and I lodged a Pmv in November 2012. We still haven't heard anything or been allocated a case worker. Should I be concerned? I'm worried it won't be granted before our wedding in April 2013.

We're seeing 6 to 9 month processing times for these visas depending on the offshore location they're being processed at. The good news is that in more than a few cases they're being granted in less than 6 months, usually where a low-risk country is involved.

Which offshore post/embassy did you lodge at? There are many friendly folks on this forum who can relate their experiences with specific offshore posts for processing times for PMV and spouse visas - it's a great source of information.

Hi Kim,

Finally someone who lodged at the same post as us!!!

We lodged our PMV at the AVAC Tonga (to be processed in Fiji) Nov 6 2012 and have not received any acknowledgement that it was received. I tried ringing and it was answered by an automated message that hangs up when it's finished.
I emailed in December - No response
I Emailed again in january and did receive a reply(January 9th) saying "Your fiance's application is still within our processing timeframe. At this stage we are currently pushing to clear the Temporary caseload backlog which we hope to complete by mid-next week and move to the Migration caseload"

Fingers crossed they are now looking at our applications!

The waiting is incredibly draining. Would love to keep in touch, it's kind of nice to know someone in the same postion dealing with the same Office :)

Keep smiling:)
