Hello everybody,

I have a question regarding having sufficient funds to support yourself while on a 12 month 676 visa.

I am going to live with my boyfriend on this visa and i have no money at all....i will live in his house and he will support me completely. Now if immigration wants me to show proof of funds while applying online, can i just let my parents transfer an amount of money, get a statement from the bank and wire it straight back? Or is it smarter to leave it in my account untill i'm actually in australia before wiring it back. I am scared immigration might stop me at the border and call my bank, will they do that?

Thanks in advance, sorry i'm totally freaking out that i might not be let in the country LOL

You can write that someone else will be supporting you financially so there is no need to put money in your account. I am doing this for my fiance. Immigration sent me a special form to fill in for this as we are not able to apply for our visa online due to the country of my love's passport so I am not sure how it works for online applications but I can tell you it is call Stat Dec of Financial Means.

I would suggest calling them (immigration) to ask how you supply this information when applying online.

I dont think I saw any of this online either. I rang because it is a little more complex for us as we can not just don an online application due to his nationality they are not set up to be able to do them online...they want to manually assess each one.

FYI I was told you need $1000/month for financial proof.

My fiance has applied for a Prospective Marriage Visa and now we are going to try for a 676 visa while we wait so that we can at least be together. It's a long shot but I think we have written a good submission and I pray it will be successful.
