Offshore spouse visa (309) Berlin and London office?

Hey guys!

First of all, thanks for all the information provided at this forum. It's been very helpful!

I'm nearly ready to submit my offshore spouse visa application (309). One of the last things I am trying to decide on is whether to send it to Berlin or London. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this? I am dutch and currently live in the Netherlands. Distance wise I would say both offices are pretty similar. I've been reading through the processing-time-threads of both offices on this forum and even though the official processing time of Berlin appears to be shorter (8-14 months compared to 10-14 months for london), some people at this forum that applied with the London office seem to have gotten their visa relatively quickly.

I understand that processing times will differ per case and that it's hard to tell up front. But is there anyone that has been in a similar situation? How did you decide which office to apply with? I personally lean towards applying with Berlin simply becose I believe they are generally responsible for processing visas of Dutch citizens but I'd love to hear your oppinion!

Had a similar question, but i think it never got answered.
I am German, but I live in the UK. I was wondering if my nationality or my country of residence decides where I should apply. I think I decided on country of residence, so I'll be going via London. But then....not sure if you can select the Embassy/HC when applying online, or if you are automatically assigned to one?

I think in your case it will be Berlin. As you say, they are responsible for The Netherlands.

In regards to your situation, the actual question in the online application is something like if you were to have to come in for an interview, which office is closest to you.? So in your case I would definitely go for London but in my situation it doesn't really matter. I assume the answer on this question estimates which office your application goes to so if one was gonna be way quicker than the other I was gonna go for that one.
