Washington DC

Has any one heard anything at all out of the Washington office. It seems all the other locations are issueing visas apart from Washington.

Nothing at all for us, despite the website saying they will try to give a response within 10 days, we never even got a reply for the email we sent about my plans to travel to Australia. We called the Americas help line which is in Ottawa and confirmed they got the email and that it was OK for me to go.

I think someone had a PMV approved right after New Year's--maybe the 4th or 5th of January, but nothing since that I've seen. I spoke to someone in Canada as well, and she sounded pretty irritated and wasn't at all helpful in answering my very basic questions...

Sorry I'm a tad anxious about THE biggest, most life-altering event of my life, ma'am!

Edit: Found it. It looks like this person was approved about two weeks ago!

That sounds like the woman I spoke to, she was irritated that I would ask after only three months if there was any news on our application, she treated me like I was a tard for asking.....

We must have spoken to the same woman, when i called she flatly refused to tell me anything as i wasnt the main applicant . Just the sponsor and the applicants husband. So had to get the wife to call and then she only got the no further paperwork required and its progressing. Point is though the woman seemed uninterested in helping at all and like it was to much effort. Seemed to me like she didnt want to do any work. If i had a say there it would dont let the door hit you in the arse on the way out to the unemployment line bitch.

This worries me about Washington. My application just got to there on January 24. I'm waiting for my confirmation email to say it arrived. My FBI and health check are already done!

I saw somewhere else that all PMVs are being processed in Ottawa. Ahhh!

Stayed up late again to call the so called immigration help line. Still the same unhelpful responses. No they can't tell us anything about our case, do we realize it has only been 5 months since we applied and can't expect any feedback so soon, no we can't have our case officers email, no we can't get any idea as to if and when our visa might be granted.

I called to let them know I will be going to New Zealand soon to renew my ETA for another 90 days, another $750 dollars down the sink hole for a 2 night stay in NZ to stay legal. I have told them exactly when I will be out of the country and translated the dates into Washington DC time so if they wanted to grant the visa whilst I am out of the country they could, if they so desired. I am not holding my breathe over it though..... I also sent the information to the general email and the email that the acknowledgement letter came from.

Still not a single email response from immigration after our initial acknowledgement email that we got in November last year. It is really frustrating that we haven't got any contact details for our case officer. My husband got angry with them the last time he called, when they gave him the "it could take between 5 months to a year" he told them that wasn't good enough, that he understood it could take that long but couldn't understand as to why they couldn't give him an idea if it was going to be more like 6 months or more like a year. He probably got us shoved back to the bottom of the pile....
