German Translations Sydney

I'm shopping around for accredited translators at the moment and am quite taken ababck by the prizes they charge. Apart from my police check (one page, no entries) I'd like to get a few emails translated that mention Dave to my dad and my aunt. They are mainly to confirm the time line of when we started saving up for a place and when I moved in (we have no official rent records because we live with his mum, so I want to have as much evidence as possible to proove I did actually move in when I claim I did).
All in all it's about 14 A4 pages, most of them only half filled with words.
Today I got a quote for $1250, and then another one for $580. Both seems really excessive for the documents. So my questions:

1. Are those prices realistic?

2. If not, where can I find a cheaper, quality quote that can deliver quickly (would like to hand in decision ready application in a fortnight or so)

3. Many of my emails ramble on about life in general and only have a few sentences concerning my relationship, but those are crucial ones (we want to have kids asap, we're planning to move in in November, that kind of thing)If translations are this expensive, can I just have those sections translated? I feel weird about paying for a thousand words in one email when only 200 are about me and Dave. But only having sections translated seems weird as well.

Thank you guys so much for your continued input, I would have crawled in a hole by now and given up if it wasn't for your help and information and encouragement

Hi Lillian -

I've had very good luck with Migration Translators (The Migration Translators | Immigration translation ? we do it fast!) and they will generally meet or beat any other quote. They're very fast and very professional.

Re: translating parts of documents, that's generally not a good idea as DIAC may wonder why you chose not to translate the other parts (cost means little to nothing to these folks!).

Hope this helps -

I used the migration translators as well. I had 8 german documents that came to a total of 295 Dollars.
I did have a little delay with them, but only because I also had finnish documents and there are something like 10 finnish translators in the whole of Oz, and most of them were on summer holidays when I wanted the translations -.-
But you should be just fine with german translations!
