Smile I am new and want to know

Hi,

I am new in this group. My application submitted at DIMMA on 23 Jan 09 under 175 under 2231-79 (Network Security Specialist) of the ASCO code. I am taking help of a Lawyer.

I know my TRN, so i can check. Though it is near to 3 months after lodge application, still it shows "required". What is the next status would be mine?

When my case officer will be assigned?

Am I in the CSL?

approximate time to finalize?

Any from Dhaka?

"Required" could mean action or CO is required but best to search the immi site to see if you can find a reference, maybe your lawyer knows from previous experience or as a last resort you can email immi rather than just rely on the transaction enquiry.

You should look closely under 175 visa eligibility and you can determine there whether your category as assessed will be eligible for MODL points, there needing to be a specific computer classification and without points eligibility I suspect a category would not be seen as being on MODL and therefore not on CSL - another question the lawywer shold be able to answer or check with immi.

Having to do too much checking with immi and I would not blame you for questioning the value of the lawyer.

Anyway, whether or not your category is on MODL/CSL will to some extent determine the priority of processing to be applied and without MODL/CSL it could be a slow boat to China.

Have a look at our second top sticky thread, there being a statement on the new processing priorities to be introduced, how last years applications would still be processed and FAQ which could all point to that boat relying on just sail power tacking all the way into a head wind.

Maybe a CO next year or 2011, only if you have everything correct in your application and no guarantees - our bureaucracies also came from the British but we have regulations for good reason and hopefully free from corruption.

Yeah ritu, you're an electrician aren't you?

Think we previously said that if your application was in and acknowledged prior to new CSL changes it is probably normal to expect immi to process in repect to old CSL, but that is up to immi - no guarantees here and if you want direct immi advice it's best to email them.

I think you may have also mentioned how you were going to apply for a 176 visa with a state nomination and see you have got the nomination on just todays date - is that correct? - but could be OK for sice discussing your 175 situation and were you using an agent too? - it was all a bit messy from what I remember if I have you remembered as right guy.
But anyway, since then I have read somewhere that it may be possible to put a state nomination in after a 175 visa to make it a 176, so perhaps they will accept a late state nomination for a 176 application too - again, up to immi and the forum has no connection with immi.

Therefore we have no insight into workload of immi and how it may be affected by people making enquiries, the backlog of existing applications, some even quite likely from last year and then meanwhile immi making further restrictions and how they may look at individual applications where not all documents are provided together on initial application - so many variables there and not worth a guess even in current situation.

People putting in applications from all over the world have to realise that immigration processing is not done in a few weeks or even months but usually for points tested applications a year or so, maybe longer where not all information is correctly supplied and in those cases history is that many applications actually get rejected..

That is not news that thousands of people in queues want to hear but tell them to read all immi site very closely, all links and in applying section there is some information on processing times as applied in normal times but because these are not normal times , maybe a doubling , tripling or more of times is applicable unless you have an application that has some priority - if yours is accepted as a 176 and you have the application all correct, that could mean better news for you, but you still need to have patience.

Dear Wanderer,

Thank you for reply.

In the ACS assement paper it is written : Your skill have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 2231-79 (Network Security Specialist) of ASCO Code, being the skilled occupation indicated that you intend to nominate in a General Skilled Migration application

With the above result from ACS my lawyer submitted my files to DIMMA.

Does it make any sence that I am eligible for CSL?

On the surface it would seem that ACS in using a specific description in brackets will mean that the category is eligible for MODL and there fore on CSL.

Just my interpretation though, no guarantees by me and you should still have a read of the section top sticky threads as a 175 CSL classification will still have you behind any employer sponsored or state nomination visas.
