visa subclass 887

Hi to all

Currently we are in family sponsored 489 visa and we are livinging and working in Melbourne Metropolitan Area as apart of designated area. the question is :-

for visa subclass 489 i was a secondary applicant and my wife was Main applicant but now my wife has only casual jobs and i have full time job. after we will complete 2 years residence in melbourne and 1 year full time work , as a secondary applicant in visa subclass 489, can i be able to apply for visa subclass 887 as a main applicant?
if yes , should i need to have skill assessment, because i dont have that one and should i need to submit new ielts result because i already submitted my ielts for visa subclass 489.and can we apply online for visa subclass 887 because in online application i heard that there no option for the applicant who lived in designated area.

Please advice me .

Thank you in advance

HI There,

Thanks for the good question.

Short answer is yes, you can apply for the 887 as the main applicant. You do not need to complete a Skill Assessment.

Hi THere,

To make the application, you don't need to show evidence of functional English.
Later, when a decision is ready to be made, the case officer might ask you to attend an interview to assess your English.

If you want to avoid this, just resit the test, and receive a 4.5 in each band of the exam.

Hello Everyone,

I am holding a 487 visa at the moment and i am hoping to apply for 887 visa soon. I have a small doubt about the work i am currently doing.

I work in a restaurant where i work for the abn and they pay me $14 per hour. I work there 5 days about 4.5 hours each day for a week and i receive a check at the end of each week. I also work at another place for 7 hours each week on tax.

It says on the immigration website i need 35 hours work per week.
How do i prove the hours where i work for the abn?
Is there a minimum amount i need to show in my account for the year?
What documents exactly would i need from my boss at the restaurant to prove i have worked for him for one year?

Thanks

Peter
