Hi Eldrin -

Typically 2-4 months after you have received an invitation - have you received an invitation to apply for a visa yet? There is no guarantee that if you lodge an EOI you will receive an invitation. It depends on your points test score and other factors.

Also, there's a very big difference between "girlfriend" and "defacto partner".

Best,

Mark Northam

Thanks.

Hi Eldrin -

An invitation could come at any time, or not at all - no way to predict as it depends on the number of people who have EOI's lodged for your occupation that have higher points scores, plus the number of invitations issued for your occupation. What occupation code did you use?

You're at the lowest possible point score to lodge an EOI, so invitations will go first to any with higher points scores. If you get no invitation after 2 years, your EOI will expire and you'll have to lodge a new one.

Best,

Mark Northam

Hi -

That's Accountant (General) - while it is in demand, there are a great many accountants out of work here too - it's a busy occupation.

Have you obtained your positive skills assessment and IELTS scores?

Best,

Mark Northam

Well done! At this point all you can do is to update your EOI as you gain more work experience (DIAC will automatically update it if your age increases while it is lodged).

One thing that is absolutely critical: make sure that all info on your EOI is correct. If you get an invitation, it comes without any advance notice, and your EOI is locked at that point so no more changes are possible that would affect your points test score.

DIAC has an occupational ceiling of 10,400 accountant places, and only 3200 invitations has been issued as of 18 Feb 2013 so hopefully you'll get an invitation!

Good luck -

Best,

Mark Northam
