Hi Whitney and caro,

Sorry to hear that, I understand totally as I was checking my VEVO everyday after I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed. You can call DIAC at the general line, remember don't ask anything for your application ( because if you do, they just tell to wait) tell them that you forgot password to login VEVO. Then you will able to check ur current visa.

hi Mark, i know there are so many great agents out there, for example, you. you spebd ur time on this forum abd help ppl out. Because I did my homework. I came to the agent 1 week before lodgement for proof read, then I just need him to give me all the written communication which sent by DIAC to me/applicant. He just took a pic and forward to my phone. Is there something need to be hired? Do u know?

For sharing: I had BVA with no condition at all ( I was on 573, i should have work condition, but no, lucky me) then I have 820 super fast. I believe a good impression of ur application will help (I presented my app like a fashion magazine

It was fun to prepare all those things. Who knows I will be one of mara in the future . For now I'm happy to help all 820/801 visa applicant in the forum.

Hi Panda -

Note sure what he took a pic of and forwarded to your phone...? If he is going to represent you as you move forward, he's required to have you (and he) complete a form 956. If he's just doing the review and that's it, the 956 may not be required, but we usually have clients complete it anyway as they often ask us to assist with communications with DIAC at some point along the line.

Thanks for the kind words, and good luck with your application!

Best,

Mark Northam

Our application went quite smooth except the CO could not find my original Viet police clearance which I did submit. Luckily I always prepare at least 2 copy of all documents.

I could not post the timeline as it does not allow me to do so, it said I don't have that privilege, weird, just a timeline. So, here is my timeline manual typed

* Lodgement date + Police check + Health) : 11 Mar 13
* CO: 13 Mar 13 ( said: application assessed and complete with exception of Viet Police Clearance, pls submit and 820 will be grant)
* 820 grant: 27 Mar 13

happy fighting for a FULL time job now :P

Congratulations panda!

I'd hate to derail this thread, but a quick question if I may ask...
My fiancee is in Australia on a subclass 300 visa and we're getting married later this month. We've been preparing everything for the 820/801 so that as soon as we have obtained our official marriage certificate, we can pretty much finalise and lodge the application.

I understand that she will be granted a bridging visa A whilst they make a decision on the 820. The thing I would love to know is, how soon after DIAC receives the 820/801 application do they grant the BVA?

The reason I ask is that I see many people on these forums saying "I lodged my application in x month and still no reply or CO has been assigned".

Does the BVA get granted within a week or so of lodging the 820/801? Do they email you the visa grant notice like they do with other approvals, or does one just assume that they're still legally allowed to reside in this country?

Thanks!

Hi Bone,

BVA will be granted on the date u lodge ur application, they will stamp the date if u lodge in person. However, it depends on how busy the office is, it may take 3,4 or 5 days for them to open ur package. You will get the letter thro the email u registered with DIAC.

So as long as u lodge ur application before ur current visa exp, u ll be totally fine.
Tips: if u only have 3 days left until it expires. Call general line, u will able to make an appoitment to actually see, talk and handle ur package to someone in DIAC, BVA can be granted at the spot.

Mine works differently, I called to make an appoitment, they said no cos I had 5 days left. Came to Perth office, drop my package into the box, walk home with no receipt. I know, woo

Gluck

Thanks so much!! My partner will be lodging hers at the Perth office too. I have heard some people get very fast approvals from Perth, but not everyone is that lucky - it does seem to be a lottery!

I have a friend who is a registered migration agent so I might see if she wants to have a look over and mark it as decision ready
