i did the same for my kid, since she was not born at the time of granting. so, i sponsored her. all happened off- shore and i am yet to move to Aus and settle !

Hi akinahd,

Thanks alot for taking time read my case and advising on it.
I am the girl and I have got the grant subclass 189 already.
All the consultants have told me that I can not apply offshore I will have to be a usual resident in order to sponsor him. But as you have mentioned that you could do it offshore and yet you have not made the move. Is that right?

Can I ask you when did you do this like when you got your grant and when you added your kid?

Plus , when you were making your application did you mention that your wife was pregnant? may be that helped the process?

What you are saying is extremely important for me.

Can you send me the link.?

Which subclass you belonged to?

Thanks alot.
Nosh.

Thanks for the details,

I am granted Visa 189 which requires my initial landing by Jan. But I may settle down in Australia only by mid 2014. My plan to make my initial landing in Sydney/Melbourne in this October and spend one week there. I need your advice for the following questions.

(1) Do I need to apply for TAX File Number / Bank Account / Medicare Card this time? or I can register these next year after I move in Australia?

(2) Do I need make anything else in Melbourne to activate the PR Visa after I clear my custom at airport?

Looking forward to your advice.

Thanks,
Uday
