hey folks,

im out of my mind, since we start to search for living in AU. I have been reading all the time on several forums, but i find just two guys who actually get down under with that visa. one guy wrote that, that was great step towards a dream, second one wrote, "only money saved my ass, because he take 50000$ with him. everybody else wroze that they heard, that this is hardest way and bla bla bla, dont go, and again bla bla bla.you will lost all your money and u will go back home after 2 weeks maybe 2month , and u"ll have just-nothing!

if i start on the begining i work a few years just for 300 or sometimes for 400 houndred € per month. :(
could be even worse???
im engaged and we have one kid.
since in our country have come crisis i work like student. and i have just 17 mounth official work serves. because of that we cant get other visa. my fiance have enough years of servis but not at his school education. our agent told us that the only one way, for us is STUDYWORK VISA. some other agent told us again that only which one can come into a "play" is studywork visa.
ok for start we"ll go back to school :) than second agent told us we are going to find a job offer ( in a few weeks) than, job offer will employ us or just one of us and than will will jump into procedure for the temporary visa. it"ll take just a cup of weeks. just like that. :) im not sure :confused::confused:

oo and i almost forget some importat info. he said: " you"ll not going on english course but on academy. the only difference is the amount of money" english course take it 7000$ academy just 500$. studywork visa is just one funny way how to realize your dreams.

it seems to good to be true, im a right??

i will be grateful for all answers, and your experience and of course opinions.

Hi Renata -

I assume you're talking about a Student Visa for Australia, which generally comes with work rights of 40 hours per fortnight. There isn't anything called a "Studywork" visa or anything similar I know of for Australia that permits full time study for more than 3 months. Is your agent legally registered as a Registered Migration Agent (RMA) for Australia? I highly recommend you check at http://mara.gov.au

Re: IELTS, your country of origin and the type of course you take will determine IELTS requirements, whether preset by DIAC or set by the school you study at.

Re: "Academy", no idea what that is. While here on a student visa, you must study at a CRICOS approved course - these are approved courses for international students here on student visas.

A job offer in a couple of weeks? Perhaps if you're highly trained in a skill in high demand, can find a sponsoring employer (the number of those are shrinking) and are very, very lucky. There are a great many people in Australia now, both migrants and locals, who cannot find a job in their occupation, and sponsored jobs are getting harder and harder to find.

Best,

yes i wrote it wrong- student visa. first agent who i find it in slovenija told me that we will go to academy for manegment or turism. 500 $ per year. one of us can work 40 hour per week and other one 20 per week.
now i find some other agent which one is registered, i check it.
first one have another agent behind who is registered. im very confused now. i can not go DU and lost all my money and turn back home.

$500 per year for full time tuition in a CRICOS qualified course for an international student, without any government subsidies? Not likely. Not even CLOSE to likely.

I suggest you contact some Registered Migration Agents in Australia rather than dealing with agents far away from what's actually happening here. You might work with one who is also an Education Agent who can help you find a qualifying program. We often recommend Nica Wang at AustAsia Education Services ¿D¬w¾¥º¸¥»-¥xÆW±Ð¨|¥ò¤¶ - she's a migration agent and education agent, and is a great resource for student visas.

Mark, can I ask a question. A cousin of mine has been here in Australia for 6 months. Has a Study Visa and is working the required 20 hours per week (in fact he is working fulltime at half the actual normal rates). Financially he is finding it very tough to survive, primarily because the payments for the study are in the order of $3500 every 6 months. Then there are the very long days, work all day and study 4hours every evening, plus travel to the city and back to Noble Park.

He has taken leave for 2 months and is returning home (Europe). He would like to return and has a job lined up but wants to change the way the study works. Can this be done from home (ie not needing to attend classes every night), also what other Visas can he look at.

Back at home he is a qualified Electrician with over 20 years experience. He was performing the same job here (but has not attempted at this stage to transfer his qualification).

He has a 2 month window in which he can return (from leave) without having to pay his next study fees, is there a way that he can do this and change schools or seek alternate work in regional Victoria that will not require the study element.

Thanks

Arthur
